Halloween Jell-O Blood Worms – Edible Bloody Worms That Can Fill Your Mouth!

These Halloween Jell-O worms look exactly like worms that are red in color but are edible and delicious!!!

I always am allergic to scarier creatures like worms, centipede etc. My daughter once had a science project where they were supposed to collect different kinds of worms that aid the farming process. I never wanted to go to the field searching for worms in the damp areas. Huhhhhh!!! They are so gross!!!

My husband and my daughter came with the worms they collected and they threw a live worm on me just to scare the hell out of me. It was so disgusting but my children and husband enjoyed my scream and reactions!!! 😊 😊 😊 Naughty of them!!!

This was a long time ago and now it was Halloween. My husband really wanted to put me in a scary situation so he suggested making Halloween Jell-O Blood Worms!!! No, I wouldn’t show my disgust today… I took it as a challenge and started my work. They were all having an eye on me, about my reactions 😊

The gelatins are to be added in a bowl and boiling water was added and mixed thoroughly. Once the gelatin has mixed well, red food color was added to make the worms look like earthworms.

I took some straws and bound them using a rubber band. Then I poured the gelatinous colored mixture carefully into the straws and allowed them to chill for around 8 hours. Then the straws can be separated out after the cooling hours and the worms can be enjoyed!!!

To add intensity to the Halloween Jell-O Blood Worms, I added some Oreo crumbs and it looked exactly like damp earth!!!!

My family was really surprised by the way I made the Halloween Jell-O Blood Worms!!! I was the first one to taste them and they were really good!!! You guys must try it once…

Instructions
  1. Combine gelatins in a bowl and add boiling water; stir until gelatins completely dissolve. Chill until lukewarm, about 20 min.
  2. Gently pull straws to extend to full length; place in tall container. Wrap together with a loose rubber band to hold straws together.
  3. Blend cream and food coloring with the lukewarm gelatin mixture. Carefully pour into container, filling straws.
  4. Chill until gelatin is firm, at least 8 hours, or cover and chill up to 2 days.
  5. Pull straws from container or, if you’re using a carton, simply tear the carton away from the filled straws.
  6. Pull straws apart. Run hot tap water for about 2 seconds over 3 to 4 straws at a time.
  7. Starting at the empty ends, push worms from straws with rolling pin, or use your fingers.
