This is a great Halloween dish with beet puree and pepper flavor that would scare the hell out of the food lovers besides giving a great taste.
My friend Clare had her birthday exactly on Halloween. She was so excited to celebrate her birthday and Halloween together until last week. Last week she had a severe eye sour and we took her to the doctor. The doctor diagnosed her with infection and prescribed some medicines. But even after a week when I went to meet her at her home, she had a bulged eye with reddish capillaries.
I felt so sorry for her because she had been anticipating the celebration of her birthday and Halloween and she had to cancel all her plans due to the infection. She said in a humorous way, “I look like a devil today”. I had to console her and came back home.
Just then, I met my other friend, Lizzi and she enquired about Clare. I sadly told her the story and she felt sad too. We both wanted to make her happy and that was when Lizzi gave a brilliant idea!!! “Why not make Egg Bloody Eyeballs for her and give her a surprise?” I felt it was a wonderful idea and we and we went out to shop the ingredients. We bought eggs, beet puree, paprika, olives, black pepper etc.
We took them to Clara’s home and she was so excited to see the two of us. We said that we are going to try out a new dis and without inviting her, we went to the kitchen. We then started the preparation. We boiled the eggs and removed the yolks separately. We mixed the beet puree, pepper and other ingredients to the bowl containing the yolk. Now the yolk mixture looked red in color due to the beet puree.
We placed the mixture in the white yolk and placed them over the yolk to form eyes. Then we stripped the red yolk with beet sauce so that they looked like bloody veins!!!!! Now… Our Deviled Egg Bloody Eyeballs were ready in no time and Lizzy was filled with tears since it resembled her eyes. She appreciated us for our thoughtfulness. Let’s do the Deviled Egg Bloody Eyeballs together now!!! 😊
